Adding ACES Email To Your Phone
This article describes how to add the ACES email account to your phone. It should be noted that adding your ACES email account to your phone will make the phone subject to Freedom of Information requests if you receive emails that could be subject to such requests. Another option that would keep your phone from being susceptible to such requests is to use the phone's browser application and navigate to Office.com. Log in with your full ACES email address and password and access your mail.
All phones do their account setup a little differently, but these are the basic steps for all modern smart phones.
- Navigate to the settings of the phone. The choice is usually listed as "settings" or "phone setup"
- Open the area where you can add an account to the phone. Sometimes the section is called "accounts" or "account setup"
- Add the account to the phone. When you add the account, the email service you choose should be "Microsoft exchange" or sometimes its just listed as "Exchange"
- You usually need to put in your full ACES email and password
- You also usually have options to automatically synch your calendar and contact data
That should be all you need to do. Some tips that might help:
- Make sure your phone is using its cell service to connect. Sometimes being on wifi will mess up the process
- If you use the wrong password, the system might lock you out. If that happens, you will stay locked out for 15 minutes, even if you start to type the correct password. If you think you typed the wrong password, wait 15 minutes and try again.
