Chromebook - Connection Tips

Why am I having a connection issue on my Chromebook?

  • Maybe your Chromebook hasn't been shut down in a few days.

    • Shut it down (simply hold down the power button) and when you start it up again, make sure you are connected to your correct home network. Also, make sure you are logging in with your ACES UN and PW.

  • Maybe there are too many users logged into the Chromebook.

    • There should be only 1 user and that is the student from ACES. To try to fix a connection issue, remove ALL users. This should help with clearing any saved data. Then, as an ACES student, log in again and check to make sure you are connected to the correct home WiFi network.

  • Maybe a hard reset is necessary. (A hard reset is a little more than just a quick restart - it resets the hardware.) A hard reset is done by...

    • Turing off your Chromebook

    • Press and Hold the Refresh button + Power

    • When the Chromebook starts up, release the Refresh button

    • This will restart your Chromebook immediately

  • Go to your Aces.org bookmarks and try a site. You should be able to choose one of the sites and log in.
